Google came out with Penguin 1.0 update, which literally shocked all the
webmasters, spammers and link builders. This update was completely unexpected
by the SEOs, as they went on building spam links for all their websites to rank
high in Google. Google web-spam team main goal was to take down all those
websites which build spam links to increase their visibility in search engines.
Penguin mainly focuses on enforcing websites to follow the Google’s quality
guidelines algorithmically.
Millions of websites have lost their rankings
in Google, and some websites were completely banned out of their search engine pages. Many people
don’t know whether Google has really penalized their website from all the
search engine pages, especially when they have built some natural and unnatural links. People eventually started sending link
removal requests to all the website owners to remove the unnatural links
pointing from their website.
Many people failed to recover from Penguin
update, as the majority of the links built were massively targeting a group of
keywords to rank up a website. Also you need to wait for months to see the
actual recovery from Penguin updates. This freaked out people to start
developing new websites with similar content. Some people even now are following the same
old school techniques to rank up a website. Please stop following that old
methods of ranking websites with spam and unnatural links.
What’s New in Google Penguin 2.0 Update?
Google took a lot of time to update the new version of Penguin
after the 3rd update on October 5, 2012. Google has rolled out the new penguin
2.0 yesterday (22nd May) where 2.3% of English-US queries are affected to the
degree that a regular user might notice. This change has also finished rolling
out for other languages through out the world. The languages with more web-spam
will see more impact from Penguin 2.0 update.
Penguin 2.0 update is a brand new generation algorithm which
digs deeper into a website. Previously, the earlier versions of Google Penguin
updates might focus only on the Home page of a website to find out the
unnatural links pointing to it. In fact this update will be more intensive than
previous penguin versions, and will mainly focus on spammers and SEOs who
practice back hat SEO techniques.
Already a lot of people are complaining about
the rank drops and boosts from the past few hours. It would be better if you
can wait a couple of days to see how it goes. According to some forums, people
are observing the low quality websites in the first page of Google after the
standard first 3 links. Many websites with no Page Rank, no Domain Authorityand PA has ranked up surprisingly. Looking at
some example queries, I’m surprised to see some spam pages coming from page 2
to page 1 gradually.
And if you have find any spam sites that you
would like to report after Penguin, then fill this spam report form to inform Google to take a look at that site.
